“America’s crisis is a crisis of the soul, and those are not just words. They speak to internal factors just as real, just as operative as external ones. We have lost our moral bearings and Trump is simply a symptom of that.” marianne2020.com/posts/ameri…

Trump introduced his children at a rally in New Hampshire yesterday, and as Don Jr. and Ivanka walked onto the stage the crowd was yelling “46! 46! 46!”

I’m a Jewish woman, and the last thing I’d ever do is be casual about a Hitler comparison.

I wonder at what point people should stop apologizing for mentioning that there are indeed very disturbing comparisons, at the very least worthy of reflection by serious and concerned citizens of any political persuasion. Knowledge of history demands it.

What Hitler did in the 30’s and 40s, he said he was going to do for many years before. Not enough people believed him, though. They thought that he was joking…

Trump suggests he'd like to model American criminal law on drug dealing on authoritarian systems like China, where dealers are executed: "Countries with a powerful death penalty, with a fair but quick trial, they have very little if any drug problem. That includes China."

The question is whether we think the resources of govt should be used on behalf of our people. It’s astonishing anyone believes otherwise, yet there are those who have convinced millions of people that it serves them for the govt to serve them not at all. nytimes.com/2020/02/10/busin…

Actually I do realize all those things. I also realize there’s an anti-Semitism in much of the analysis regarding Israel and Palestine out there today...and it disturbs me. It’s just that I feel your analysis is equally unbalanced. I’m not naive about either side of this conflict

The Palestinian people are not the Palestinian leadership, any more than the Israeli people are the Israeli leadership or the American people are Donald Trump. And Hamas has nothing to do with the West Bank. Simplistic analysis is wrong when it’s presented by either side.

Ultimately, what moves the dial is not what we fight against but what we stand for.

I don’t feel she’s anti-Israel. We can’t view being pro-Palestinian as necessarily being anti-Israel. I’m pro-American but I don’t usually agree with Trump; likewise you can be pro-Israel and not agree with Netanyahu. We have got to build bridges on this topic.
