It’s not just about “eating the rich;” it’s about eating the part of ourselves that took the bait so easily. Americans weren’t so much victims as we were co-conspirators in the destruction of a system that we ourselves were willing to sacrifice as long as we were kept in the game

We need to see how deeply, fundamentally flawed is any system that puts corporate profits before human needs. That means health care, economic, insurance, environmental, gun, food, chemical, educational, justice, military policies etc. We became an idolatrous nation & idols fall.

You’re not aware that the crowded beaches in Florida during Spring break became a super spreader? Then you haven’t been looking at the data!

No. We just need to get very awake very quickly, in November and beyond.

It was about 50 years ago that people starting saying we were a “sick society” and about 40 years ago that we went into major denial about it. Now we need to take a sharp U-turn.

37 yrs of counseling people has shown me that individuals have a tremendous capacity for self-reflection and wisdom. The problem is that we’ve surrendered our political system to a worldview that mitigates against it. In politics, looking deeper is deemed unsophisticated nonsense

Enough of us admitting it is a precursor to political change.

There ARE no stats about a situation that hasn’t occurred yet; that’s the point. We can’t analyze data of kids becoming a massive petri dish of infection cuz til now we haven’t done anything that stupid. Only similarity a bunch of college kids at the beach & that did not go well.

No, YOU listen to real physicians on the ground! (Should I apologize for having an “agenda” that we nor inadvertently kill our children?)

For the sake of our country, I hope you’re right and I’m wrong on this one. But I don’t think so. I think we have so financialized our fundamental analysis of America’s problems that as a society we’re desensitized to the suffering of millions.

Then by all means stop reading it!

That’s ridiculous. Wanting to abolish the DHS does not mean we’re not patriotic and you are. It means that something intended to increase our security in some ways has decreased it and that the problem needs to be fixed.

At what point do we admit to ourselves that only an insane society risks massive loss of life among its children in order to procure the ability to risk massive loss of life among their parents in order to avoid massive losses of money among those who don’t care about either one?
