Good economy for who though? With 1% of Americans controlling more than 90% of the wealth, the economy has served one group of people very well but at the expense of far too many. We should strive for liberty and justice for all - economically as well as in every other way.

Dems need to do some self-reflection now. It’s true Republicans vigorously perpetrate the corporatist agenda. But Dems too often try to ameliorate people’s suffering on the periphery, yet avoid challenging the underlying forces that make all that suffering inevitable.

Extremely wealthy people are covered extensively on MSM tonight about how the situation in America is depressing them. But for tens of millions of Americans without health care, homes, food or w/ crushing college loan debt, the situation in America was depressing long before this

Don't be too hopeful. The strong stuff hasn't started yet.

This tweet says something very important. In many cases, the system not only perpetrates a problem but then sabotages and undermines those seeking to provide real solutions

There are enough of us who believe these things. What we need are enough people who are willing to say these things and vote for these things!

I’m in that in between state where the pain of the problem is gone and the nerve block from surgery is still working so I don’t need the pain meds yet. Im probably a normal person for about 8 or so more hours - we’ll see!:)

I long for the day when a US president says, “We can’t do that because it would hurt the children” and that SHUTS DOWN THE CONVERSATION.

No no no no no, @NRA; you’ve been nothing close to a “fierce defender America’s freedom at the ballot box!” You spend 100’s of millions of $ to suppress the political voices of those who want to see common sense gun safety laws. All you protect are gun manufacturing profits.
(1/2) Statement from NRA CEO & EVP Wayne LaPierre: “The NYAG’s actions are an affront to democracy and freedom. This is an unconstitutional, premeditated attack aiming to dismantle and destroy the NRA – the fiercest defender of America’s freedom at the ballot box for decades.

75 years ago, the US dropped an untested nuclear weapon over Hiroshima. 66,000 people died instantly. Thousands more faced the slow, silent killer of cancer and radiation poisoning. We must commit to nuclear nonproliferation and ensure an atrocity like this never happens again.
