Well THAT’s code for “Vote for me if you’re anti-Catholic!” ( I can’t even imagine what he would have said if the nominee had been Bernie.)
"He's against the Bible," Trump says of Biden, a Catholic who clearly knows more of the Bible than Trump does. "That may be a little harsh," Geraldo responds. Trump says well at least the people around Biden are against the Bible.

YES; there should be a 24-hr Recovery channel too. People don’t fully realize that the airwaves belong to us. An all-commercial TV model is what happens when everything is financialized, things turned into commodities to buy & sell that instead should be used for the common good
I’m sure many people have said this, but I haven’t seen anything about it. Why isn’t there a set of TV channels available nationwide by September that has school curriculum taught all day with simple scheduling? It would be more accessible than everyone needing a computer + wifi.

There are extreme voices on left & right, and of course we should reject them. But again, the BLM movement matters. There was an established pattern of police killing unarmed black man. What would you have Black America do? Just stand around and wait for the next one to happen?

A frightening experiment with our CHILDREN!!!
44 Mississippi school districts are resuming in-person instruction this week. Covid-19 cases in the state doubled over the past month. Mississippi’s state health officer described it as a “frightening experiment." apnews.com/de759997244a572a3…

I don’t agree with everyone I’ve met in any movement or organization, but the larger cause of BLM is without question necessary & good. The demonization of what they’re standing for was to be expected.

This is not about police or no police. Of course we need law enforcement. It’s about transforming police culture, particularly as it relates to an obvious pattern of violence towards Black people. And we should not just think of it as “their” cause.

When people ask why BLM protests matter (believe it or not some people do ask) tell them what Whitmer is doing in MI, what Minneapolis is doing with their police dept etc. The status quo will always seek to perpetuate itself; the only way to change it is for the people to step in

Excellent.
Today, I declared racism to be a public health crisis in Michigan and created the Black Leadership Advisory Council. #COVID19 has highlighted what Black & Brown communities have always known — inequities caused by systemic racism can be deadly. We’re confronting this head on.

It will be okay that things are getting worse as long as we ourselves are getting better; more serious, more focused, more psychologically disciplined, more aware and more committed to change. When we’re materially at a disadvantage our internal strengths are our winning edge.

In some unlikely places (Iowa Gov. on felons voting, Mississippi SC on vote-by-mail, Nevada Gov. on racism) states are beginning to buck the tide.

We’ve been skating on very thin ice in three areas: infectious diseases (obviously), environmental degradation & nuclear catastrophe. Too many have been in denial about all three.
“The danger of a nuclear catastrophe today is equal to the darkest days of the Cold War. And most of the public simply do not understand that reality,” says former Defense Secretary William Perry. to.pbs.org/2DrFLJp

Tears and fury.
⚠️ At least 5.4M Americans have lost their health care. ⚠️ 26M Americans are going hungry because they can't afford enough food. ⚠️ 28M Americans are at risk of losing their homes. This is an emergency. Congress must pass a bold relief package NOW.

I second that.
Refusing to extend eviction moratoriums while doling out $686,000,000 for F-35 fighter jets is a crime against humanity.

Excellent!
BREAKING: Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds just restored voting rights to tens of thousands of Iowans with former convictions by executive order. This comes with no requirements to pay off fees and fines.
