Heartbreakingly and infuriatingly true.

Can you tell the rest of us how we can help?

If teachers put the word out how we can support them now, I for one will do everything I can to help. They know what’s going on in our schools, what we should do & not do. America never really listens to our teachers (legacy of patriarchy) & we seriously need to listen now.

When pols say schools need to reopen “for the mental health” of our kids their hypocrisy is on full display. If they cared about kids’ mental health they would have done something years ago to diminish anxiety that every child feels with school shootings in the back of their mind

I think many of them care, but they’re attached to a political worldview that mitigates against radical compassion. Unfortunately, a critical mass of voters – even on the left - enable them in an obsolete & increasingly unsustainable way of confusing bullshit with sophistication.

It once was and needs to be again or we won’t make it.

It will be the most uniquely American irony if Trump ultimately loses not because of his disastrous handling of...well, just about everything...but because he took away TikTok and young people, having finally had enough, say “Okay buddy, that’s IT!!!”

It’s an obvious question, but why aren’t the mayor of Portland and the governor of Oregon having a high-level televised meeting with social justice and Black leaders, making it a kind of statewide zoom Town Hall? It’s clearly not enough anymore to just say “We need to do better.”

3/ Our political establishment is an inadequate container for the legitimate frustration and rage that is rising up from the bottom of things. It must become that now - very quickly - or the rage will spill over into the streets in a way the system cannot contain.

2/ When I argued that, I’d say it was true whether in a far-off corner of the world or in a corner of a US city. What’s changed now is that this isn’t about a corner anywhere anymore. The entirety of the country is now saturated with an unsustainable amount of untended to despair

1/ Throughout my campaign I argued that large groups of desperate people should be seen as a national security risk. That desperate people do desperate things. That they form a petri dish out of which violent eruption is almost inevitable

It’s worse than that, @RoKhanna. If you guys don’t act soon we’re on the verge of a revolution. This country is a powderkeg and every day of government inaction is like a match that is creeping closer.
We are on the precipice of an eviction crisis on a scale that this nation has never seen before. Extend the moratorium on evictions and give people rental assistance NOW.

.@SenRonJohnson If your job is gone & not coming back, how do you “reengage in the economy?” If rent is due & you can’t afford to pay it, where do you go? If your kids are hungry & you have no money, how do you feed them? What you’re arguing isn’t wise economics; it’s cruelty.
.@SenRonJohnson: "Why do our Democrat colleagues want to propose continuing $600 per week... that is preventing people, incentivizing people not to reengage in the economy so our economy can recover? It makes no sense."
