No, what’s “critically important” is that our children be safe.
It is critically important for our public health to open schools this fall. CDC resources will help parents, teachers and administrators make practical, safety-focused decisions as this school year begins. bit.ly/39RLWS8

We are taking a catastrophic risk with the health of our children, teachers and their families. I hope I’ll be proven wrong but logic says otherwise. This is irresponsible and immoral.
Dr. Fauci tells teachers about reopening schools: "You're going to be part of the experiment of the learning curve of what we need to know." Notes that we currently don't know much about how the virus spreads with children. #AFT20

There NEEDS to be! Enough is enough.
Investors take note - it sure seems like some sort of antitrust action is in the offing for Facebook and Amazon and possibly Google and Apple.

Not at all. There have been Republican presidents in my lifetime who I didn’t vote for, yet I realized they’d been democratically elected and I respected that they were president. This is different. Trump is not a conservative nor a respectable human being. He’s a dangerous man.

“Performative” is the trendy new word. But the president is not “performing;” he & Barr & Wolf are staging a very real neo-fascist attack on our democracy. It’s the neo-liberal establishment that’s “performing,” complaining about how awful it is but continuing to fund his efforts

Bingo!
It costs an estimated $790 to fully dress a police officer in riot gear. It costs an estimated $11 to dress a medical worker in PPE. Which one of these groups do you think is running low on equipment across the nation?

This will mean many more families living in their cars, not knowing how to feed their children, drowning in despair for no other reason than that our system has completely betrayed them.

Just a reminder as we head over the cliff: If unemployment benefits go away completely, more than 30 million Americans will see an income cut of between 50 percent and 75 percent -- virtually overnight

Thank you, Cassie. I’m neither “anti-vax, anti-medicine, anti-science, dangerous, crazy” nor “a grifter.” And those interested in progressive change in this country should recognize how genuine change agents are character-assassinated in order to keep them out of the conversation

Exactly.
A new database categorized nearly 900 politically motivated attacks and plots in the U.S. since 1994, finding that zero people have been killed in anti-fascist attacks in 25 years. Meanwhile, over 300 people have been killed in right-wing attacks in the same time period.

Shout this from the rooftops and spread it far and wide. We need to counter the antifa boogeyman narrative that’s a classic case of displacement perpetuated by far Right Republicans and Fox News.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/jih…

So much concern about the safety & security of a courthouse, yet so little concern about safety & security of our people. From evictions to Covid to lack of health ins to police repression, the citizens of the USA are pawns in a war over whether or not our democracy will survive.
Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf says governor of Oregon's tweet claiming federal forces will imminently leave Portland is false: "We are not leaving Portland until we are assured that that courthouse is safe & secure. We will continue to keep law enforcement officers in the area."

Many American young people are trying to rise up as tech entrepreneurs but won’t be able to compete if tech giants are allowed to monopolize. Follow the story because what happens here is important. nytimes.com/2020/07/29/techn…
