I don’t think any socioeconomic group has a monopoly on values. Not every rich person is a greedy bastard anymore than every poor person is noble and pure. We need to assume the best about each other now. A mass awakening is rising up from everywhere.

What you’re missing is that even though that would make the economy more abundant for everyone, it would also make the powerless more powerful. That is at least unconsciously unacceptable to their mindset.
