We’re on the earth to love each other. That’s our purpose, and it’s only in finding our purpose that we’ll find happiness & peace. It should apply to the business of politics & economics as much as it applies to any other aspect of living & is the only key to a survivable future.

When things are as messed up as they are now, there’s no reason not to use the time to imagine what it is we would actually want. Don’t think about what’s politically “possible;” think about what would be beautiful and good.

Taking on another woman wouldn’t be cool. And so much is changing and is going to change over the next 2 years that we can’t even imagine what kinds of possibilities are going to open up. A fundamental earthquake is happening now and things aren’t going to be the same.

It’s genuinely disgusting. Whether or not you have a home has nothing to do with whether or not you’re a citizen.

I’m sorry but it’s not true. The Republicans wouldn’t even put anything on the table to negotiate with. I was raised in a Democratic home where there was respect for Republican lawmakers. But that was a different Republican party than what’s in power today.

McConnell is acting as though human suffering simply does not matter. Tens of millions of our fellow Americans are experiencing utter despair & he will not lift a finger. Somehow somewhere, the conscience of America is going to re-assert itself with tremendous power and strength.
"The $600 unemployment benefits are expiring this weekend because Senate Republicans didn't do anything. Eviction moratoriums are expiring across the country, and unemployment support is lapsing as Congress fails to act." buzzfeednews.com/article/pau…

You think she couldn’t compete with him for African-Americans and Afro-Caribbeans?? I do. On the issue of the suburbs you could be right. But one of the things I like about her is that she studies and learns and obviously grows as she does her job.

That might be true, but we need to start thinking about politics in terms of what we want rather than what we think we can have. Schumer is the ultimate architect of the corporate dominance of the Democratic Party and it would take a seriously charismatic progressive to beat him.

They are democratic participation too, and there is no comparison between the money they can raise and the corporate wealth represented by corporate Democrats.

That’s not a negative characterization it’s just campaign expenditure. But progressives only have a fraction as much $ to spend cuz they don’t represent corporate interests. If you want the corporate Dems in power, support Schumer. If you want progressives to have a shot, then not

It’s almost as though human suffering means nothing to them...🤔
