Well actually, it went from “a bit left” to “a lot happening.” So yes.

There are two simultaneous emotional imperatives in this moment: to grieve what is, and to rejoice in what’s going to be. The first reflects the fact that we were asleep for too long, and the second reflects the fact that we’re waking up now.

I agree. She doesn’t need it and she probably wouldn’t choose to do it. But I think the conversation is important because it recognizes the need to replace “rotten, centuries old systems.” Democrats need the audacity to make fundamental breaks with the past.

Yep. The systemic problems didn’t begin with Trump, they just climaxed with him. Electing Biden, as important as that is, will not fix the systemic problems unless and until we push to make it happen. prospect.org/coronavirus/ame…

No it actually doesn’t. It’s more complicated than that but no less problematical.

This article blows my mind. First of all, if we gave Americans the education they need then our workers could compete with the Chinese any day. Secondly, Cook’s naïveté is unbelievable for someone with his sophistication. You’ve got to be kidding me, Tim...inc.com/glenn-leibowitz/appl…

Not necesssrily. We need a social conscience and appropriate regulation of capitalism. Plus $ out of politics. The healthiest society has elements of both capitalism and socialism.

The very rich in America have gotten so used to receiving more that they can’t imagine receiving less & the poor in America have gotten so used to receiving less that they can’t imagine receiving more. The former commands power while the latter still begs for crumbs. It’s wrong.

We need an entirely new operating system. Every public policy should be based on one principle: how far does it go toward improving someone’s life? Not short-term corporate profit maximization - but the quality of people’s lives. It’s a radical shift to a humanitarian bottom line

I could not agree more.
12 years after starting college, white men have paid off just 44% of their student loans, while black women owe 13% more than they started with. Cancel it -- for everyone.
