Not necesssrily. We need a social conscience and appropriate regulation of capitalism. Plus $ out of politics. The healthiest society has elements of both capitalism and socialism.
The very rich in America have gotten so used to receiving more that they can’t imagine receiving less & the poor in America have gotten so used to receiving less that they can’t imagine receiving more. The former commands power while the latter still begs for crumbs. It’s wrong.
We need an entirely new operating system. Every public policy should be based on one principle: how far does it go toward improving someone’s life? Not short-term corporate profit maximization - but the quality of people’s lives. It’s a radical shift to a humanitarian bottom line
