I respect the peaceful protesters and I think violent protestors need to be held accountable. That’s the same way I feel about the police, by the way.

I condemn violence by anyone. This shouldn’t even be a left/right issue. It’s an American one. We should respect peaceful protesters & we should respect the police. We should hold accountable violent protesters & also hold accountable police who use excessive & unnecessary force.

I agree with the first two. But the DNC is a private corporation. It is not have some governmental function, and I don’t understand why Democrats defer to it the way they do. Republicans don’t do that with the RNC and neither should we.

Michelle Obama said this last night and I agree with her: “If you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can; and they will if we don’t make a change in this election"

That’s a very important point. It’s a result of the Calvinists.

I don’t get this “fall in line” stuff. Of course I’m voting for Joe and I have said that 1 million times. You might not think I’m helping, but I think a lot of people appreciate that we can be honest here and still make sure that Trump doesn’t win a second term.

I was asked who my first call would be & I said Jacinda Adern. She’d said that she wants to NZ to be the best place in the world for a child to grow up and I wanted to say to her “Girlfriend you’re on” because I want America to be that too. You know what? I was right.

They’re bad. We should drop them and just consider the first one our anthem. I’m all for that.

I hear that. They sang the first verse tonight and that’s what I was speaking about. I am certainly all for dropping that offensive verse and agreeing to never use it. But that first verse is still our national anthem.

Wait, I haven’t said one negative word about Joe or Kamala! Not one! I’ve made it clear I’m voting for Joe and I’ve made it clear that the choice is between fascism and democracy. I could not be more passionate these days in my argument that we must not allow Trump a 2nd term.

No we’re not. I don’t know how it’s going to change but I know that it’s going to change.

That’s direct democracy. What we have is a representative democracy.

Yes that’s what it has become, but you say that as though it’s a done deal. It’s not. It’s simply a chapter in our history and we need to correct it.

What’s innaccurate is the “by law” part. I agree with you about what the 2 parties are at this point but the lock they have on the process only started in the 60s and 70s. Third-party voices used to have far more power, and we simply have to break the chokehold the two have now.

I would never celebrate violence. I know that there are some people who have been involved there who are not peaceful protestors. I also know that there have been many many people there who are. The feds coming in made things worse & the violence they demonstrated was inexcusable
