Please let’s all be on this. Regardless of the party drama, I can tell you from experience that Iowans really showed up for America last year. It’s time for Americans to show up for them.

Believe me, I wouldn’t have run had I not seen certain things. And I saw even more things when running. But even I’m surprised by some of the craziness at this point.

One reason for sure is because the DC political machine has not stopped him. We’re seeing the ineptitude of an entire system on full display this year, revealing chinks in the armor most people didn’t even know existed. The emperor clearly has no clothes.

I don’t get it. Isn’t this process moving too slowly? The clock is ticking here and every day the situation is under his control is the day when he can wield his nefarious power. One week for a meeting that the rest of us could set up on zoom in 30 minutes?

This is heartbreaking. Wilderness and wildlife are treasures we’re meant to protect and cherish, not exploit for crass unethical gain. Hopefully we will able to stop this, or I can’t imagine that future generations will look back on us kindly.
The Trump admin has finalized plans to open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling, a move that will auction off oil and gas rights in the heart of one of the nation's most iconic wild places — 1.6 million-acres of coastal plain. washingtonpost.com/climate-e…

This.
Do y’all understand what’s happening in Iowa right now? “I’ve been out of oxygen for three days,” said a resident of a senior living center in Cedar Rapids — a city that might not see electricity for another *week,* officials say. #derecho kcrg.com/2020/08/13/resident…

This is absolutely true. The political-media industrial complex tells the story that serves them, not necessarily the story we need to hear. Here’s how you can help our friends in Iowa thegazette.com/subject/opini…

Friends in Cedar Rapids and other Iowans, please tell us what we can do to help. Is the Red Cross the best place to contribute?

#IowaDerecho causing such damage & suffering yet top state leaders are hesitant to ask feds for help. Such people are ideologically averse to using govt on behalf of its people but eager & willing to use it on behalf of corporations. This is the moment for such nonsense to stop.

The #IowaDerecho damage is heartbreaking. Flattened crops for miles, Power Outages for days, living in tents & shattered buildings, lack of food, medications. #Iowa need help. Please share & encourage entries to State of Iowa Preliminary Damage Assessment.

Iowa suffered a terrible storm (I never knew there was such a thing as an inland hurricane before) and aren’t yet receiving the federal help they need. Very wonderful people there. Please hold them in your heart and do what you can do. google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes…

Isn’t that true about anyone who says something, or writes an article or a book? Especially if that person is a clergy or philosopher? Do you want me to precede every sentence I write with, “In my opinion…”

Thanks. Let’s stick with the “I like you” part. We can disagree and still like each other. We actually need a lot more of that.

That’s a situation that totally has to change. We’ve got to start teaching civics and real history to our children. We’re paying a terrible price for all the ignorance we have allowed to fester.

That just means the rest of us are going to have do to all the work and you’ll watch from the patio!

For individuals and for nations, patterns repeat themselves. Each time we have a chance to do it right in places where we had done it wrong before.

3/ We’ll have been humbled, which we desperately need; we’ll have been chastened, which we deserve to be; & our attitudes will be readjusted from ambition to inspiration, from goals of profit to goals of goodness. As profound as our descent, so profound will be our transformation
