2/ Having come so close to the cliff, nearly losing something we had taken for granted was an eternal guarantee, we will be filled with a spirit of humility and thanksgiving that will reinvent the United States.

1/ When all of this is over - when we get the criminal out of the White House - we will begin a new conversation about this country, what it means to us and what it should mean for the world.

Look at the year of that show, and look at what I actually said. There’s nothing I need to apologize for there.

I do, actually. Collectivized hatred has been responsible for historical evils everywhere from the Inquisition to the Holocaust Rwanda. The fact that entire groups of people can become collectively psychotic is no joke.

I didn’t talk about dark psychic forces “and the moon.” I talked about a dark psychic force of collectivized hatred Trump has turned into a political force; I was correct btw. And I talked about reparations, our sicknesscare rather than healthcare system & environmental injustice

No one said that! 250 years of slavery were followed by abolition, then another 100 years of institutionalized violence against Blacks. When it comes to race, we often take two 2 steps forward & 1 back. To me that’s why we need reparations now: to take another giant step forward.

We need to do both! I founded nonprofit orgs & been a nonprofit activist for decades, but there comes a time when you have to do more than help the people who are living at the effect of bad policy. We also have to change the policy.

Read this entire thread. If anyone knows the best way to get their medicine to these people, please let me know and let’s publicize it.
I’m a disabled combat veteran and I get my all my meds (a considerable amount) through the #USPS. I have asthma and I’m waiting on an inhaler. I can’t breathe. #USPSprotest

56 men signed the Dec of Independence but 41 of them were slaveowners. It went on from there. Slavery then abolition, institutionalized suppression of women then women’s suffrage, segregation then civil rights movement. It’s like a characterilogocal struggle embedded in our DNA.

From the beginning we’ve been a dichotomy between the most aspirational founding principles & forces that violently transgressed against them.Every generation plays out the struggle; it’s simply our turn.

It’s a scary moment to be sure. Some civilizations have fallen but some have risen; the choice which one we will be lies in our hands. Cynicism will not serve us now - it’s just an excuse for not helping - but optimism mixed with courage and love will make us stronger.

The USPS ISN’T a business; it’s a service established in the Constitution. Article I, Section 8, Clause 7, known as the Postal Clause or the Postal Power, empowers Congress "To establish Post Offices and Post Roads.” It doesn’t exist to make money; it’s exists to serve the people

It’s been said that “you can always count on Americans to do the right thing.... after they’’ve exhausted every other option.” We’re often too distracted to wake up to something for a very long time, but once we do we slam it like nobody’s business. He will not get away with this

I don’t underestimate the profound seriousness of the assault on our democracy now, but neither do I underestimate the power of the incredible energy being shown by so many people in every state who are rising up in ways both big and small to push it back.

Two of the progressive candidates I endorsed will have their primaries on Tuesday! Here’s my interview with @JENFL23 who is running against Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a perfect symbol for the old guard. Jen has done a great job and I wish her well. youtube.com/Wwf2bC54uiY
