Watching women from all walks of life, all colors and ethnicities, having achieved something so significant and now just excited to be there owning their power today -- it gives me hope for our democracy. Sounds corny but it's how I feel.

I thought she looked fabulous. I felt her outfit said to millions of women who might feel politics has nothing to do with them that it sure as hell does. The whole point of democracy is it's supposed to belong to everyone. That chamber needs new life, new color & it's getting it.

Children surrounding Nancy Pelosi as she takes the oath of office. THIS is what America should look like. I'm standing, applauding, and crying. Giving deep thanks in my heart.

For all the disappointment over losing the election, ever moment of deep concern and genuine fear over what might happen in this country now -- today a few kick ass women sauntered onto the floor of Congress and said by their very presence, "It's cool. We're here now."#hopeishere

I'm proud of Nancy, Alexandria, Pramila etc. -- and everyone who helped to put them where they are. Here's wishing them the best on the first day of a whole new chapter.

A corporation can indeed be a good thing when it adheres to ethical practices, but over the last 40 years there has been a slide in the direction of govt. supported advocacy for short-term corporate profit maximization at the expense of people and planet. That is economic tyranny

Saying only experienced politicians can get us out of the ditch is to forget that experienced politicians got us into it.

But it does not. Making corporate profit maximization our governing principle has destroyed our middle class and created the greatest wealth inequality since 1929. Over 30% of Americans live in near poverty. That is not a "good" economy.
Having just listened to Elizabeth Warren on the economy, I like her. Having listened to Jay Inslee on Climate Change, I like him. I think it's healthy for our democracy that so many voices will be weighing in, and I look forward to weighing in with mine. Announcement coming soon!

Think of the worst day you’ve ever had, the worst hour, and consider the fact that it’s statistically reasonable to assume everyone you ever met has hurt that badly too. Open your heart to the pain of others and it miraculously changes everything.

On the issue of climate change, the views of the vast majority of the world's scientists counts for a lot more than somebody's personal opinion.
