Each of us has a full time job monitoring our own spiritual progress, without thinking it's our job to monitor that of others. No one has a monopoly on truth, or purity, or values.
If we have no democratic or moral core - if the murder of journalists doesn’t matter, lies don’t matter, & needless suffering for the sake of corporate profits doesn’t matter - then no amount of money or brute force will be able to protect us from the consequences of our actions.

As important as it is to point out what’s wrong, it’s equally important to point out what’s possible. Don’t just face the darkness; also face the light.
If what you’re saying is that both the individual and the government have equal responsibility, then I agree. But right now our government is not living up to its responsibility, making it difficult for many individuals to live up to theirs.
No. Simple economic justice should not be too much for citizens to ask for. In a “Government of the people, by the people, and for the people” the powers of government do not get specifically applied to helping the extremely rich get richer at the expense of everyone else.
Making money is a good thing. The problem is that too many people have a hard time being able to. And yes, that disparity is a direct result of economic policies such as stock options and buybacks, lack of health insurance, college loan debt etc
