Peaceful political revolution Is a marathon; it’s not a sprint. It’s a journey; some days will be good & some days not so good. Learning to absorb disappointment when disappointment occurs is part of the process. The status quo will win some skirmishes, but it won’t win the day.

We’re going to dismiss the patriarchy in much the same way that for the last few hundred or 1000 years the patriarchy has dismissed us.

We’re going to rise up in a wave of power unmatched in modern American history. We’re going to win not 1 election or 2, but many. We’re going to change the political system from the inside out, not in anger at what is but with absolute conviction that it is time for something new

That is very dangerous language. Bush would never have engaged in it. Reagan would never have engaged in it. It is the kind of language used by the worst kind of dictators. All people of goodwill, on the Left or on the Right, should firmly stand against it.

Dear Jared Kushner, Your father-in-law called his political opponents “evil people” yesterday. Given our historical experience, could you perhaps speak to him about that?

People say we should understand a Senator voting for Kavanaugh even if he or she does not think he belongs on the Court, if it means risking their defeat in Nov. No, I do not understand. All of us have to make ethical decisions. Vote according to your conscience, not your polls.

If what you say always gets applause, then there are probably some things you’re supposed to say that you’re not saying yet.

Thank you! Gandhi saw ahimsa as the power behind the Indian Independence movement — not as a reason not to do it.

To disagree with a person is not to “attack” them. To call out evil doesn’t mean you’re being “judgmental”. And to use spirituality as a justification for political complacency is not holy.
