Yes of course. But as someone who has done a lot of nonprofit work in my life, I think we all need to be clear that no amount of charity can compensate for a basic lack of social justice. Huge systemic economic issues still need to be addressed.

For one thing, we are the only country that bases educational funding on property taxes. That should be scrapped. It ensures that children in poor neighborhoods will get a less quality education, further extending wealth inequality.

You’re telling me that I “should not” use the word “should?”

Germany paid $89B to Jewish organizations since the Holocaust. We should have similar plan of reparations for slavery. Until then we wont have made a fundamental economic amends. Not enough to stop kicking someone to the ground; you also owe it to them to help them get back up.

Oh that is VERY political. The United States is the only country that bases our education funding on property values, ensuring that poor children receive less quality education and extending wealth inequality into the next generation.

We should massively realign our resources in support of children 8 years old & younger. Every child should have the best education, healthcare, sports, food, exposure to the arts etc. That would be the most powerful long-term economic stimulus & support for a sustainable future.

It has to be requested by the president. The Senate committee has now asked the president to request it.

Wow. The Senate committee has just requested the White House to ask for an FBI investigation. Moments like this are important — we should celebrate the moments when the system works, just like we should protest the moments when it doesn’t.

No, saying she “should put a bag over her head and hang her head in shame for the rest of her life” is not just disagreeing.

Jeff Flake says he wants the FBI to have up to one week to investigate the charges before the final vote is taken. He is trying to save the integrity and moral authority of the Republican Party; I hope he succeeds.

Sen Kennedy tells Sen Feinstein - clearly who he’s referring to - she should “hang her head in a bag in shame for the rest of her life”. He said he “doesn’t know” if she reads the Bible but then quotes Matthew. I don’t know if his misogyny or his anti-Semitism is more disgusting.
