Given that in the 20th century it was women & children - not combatants - who mainly died in wars, it is preposterous to say that national security is not a “woman’s issue.” It’s women who need to take up the banner that waging peace is the only way to create a world without war.

Not focusing on the negative is not always positive. Focusing on the negative with the intention and willingness to transform it into a positive is where the miracle lies. We shouldn’t use spirituality as a justification for not addressing the suffering of other sentient beings.

I completely understand, but that doesn’t make me passive. A Course in Miracles says “look at the crucifixion but do not dwell on it.” Not looking at all is not transcendence, it’s denial. False positivism is as dysfunctional in politics as anywhere else. Complacency is not holy.
