Our healthcare system is deciding who's going to pay for whose disease, as opposed to the creation of healthcare policies, chemical policies, agricultural policies & environmental policies that help prevent disease to begin with. We've got to water the roots not just the leaves.

Americans are living in a state of collective trauma, but our political situation didn't cause it; it's an expression of it. Trying to fix that trauma on the level of traditional politics is like watering the leaves of a plant. We're going to have to digger deeper into our souls.

We’re not going to be able to overturn Citizens United anytime soon given the current make-up of the Supreme Court. So we need massive new citizen engagement plus state efforts against dark money in full force. We will do this. In time we will do this.See movetoamend.org

With all due respect, that is the very attitude used to start the transfer of wealth from the middle class to the top one per cent. The glorification of market forces and simultaneous denegration of government is exactly what got us here.

This has nothing to do with large or small govt, it has to do with whether the power of govt is placed at the service of the people, or of large corporations. The “Keep government small” mantra is part of the scam; there’s nothing small about multi billion $ corporate subsidies.

What a scam has been perpetrated over last 40 years, training the American people to expect so little from their govt. Health care? Nah. Protection from gun violence? Nah. Economic justice? Nah. Good schools for all our kids? Nah. The scam will continue until the scammed wake up

Only since 1980s was that idea promulgated. Previous to that time it was assumed corporations had ethical responsibilities just like every other corner of society. Govt. gave the 2017 tax break to corporations supposedly to help the people, not just to increase corporate profits.

A corporation does not just have fiduciary responsibility to its stockholders; it has a moral responsibility to all its stakeholders, including its workers, community and environment. An amoral economy is a corrupt economy, sucking the soul out of the nation it is here to serve.
