Universal health care. Free college tuition. Racial and criminal justice reform. Protecting the environment instead of aiding those who would assault it. Full funding for education. Where do you get that there’s no message there?

That’s where I think you and I have have an honest disagreement. I feel we have to put the tenets of Judaism first and politics second. Yes we have to honor the victims but first we have to honor God.
I understand fully the importance of Israel. I understand the importance of the United States too, but that doesn’t mean I always agree with every policy of the US government. I can understand the importance of Israel without always agreeing with Benjamin Netanyahu.
There’s a difference between judgement & description. “Hitler was a Nazi” isn’t a judgement, it’s a description! Passionate defense of our democracy doesn’t amount to “judgement” toward those who would threaten it. Even spiritual seekers yell “Fire!” if a house is burning down.
Love brings up everything unlike itself, so the soul can purge itself of our barriers to love. The grief, loss, shame and rage we encounter can be devastating, but on the other side of the storm we emerge reborn.

The Atonement is a cosmic reset button. Every action has a reaction (Cause & Effect/Karma), but in a moment of grace all karma is burned. When we honestly acknowledge a wrong & sincerely commit to doing better, things are changed on the level of Cause and new Effects result.
