I think cynicism is just an excuse for not helping. I realize our democracy is on life-support, but it’s not dead yet. What it needs is helpers, not whiners. Optimists are the actual realists because we forge a new reality. Positivity isn’t naive; when educated, it’s courageous.

I am grateful to, & support, the brave policemen & policewomen around this country. But why are unarmed black man being shot by police time and time again, with little or no repercussions? And no Mr. President, it’s not just a “local matter.” It’s an attack on what we stand for.
