American women rising up en masse can make a tremendous difference. Let's choose to take aim at the biggest issues, when the biggest issues arise. Sometimes that takes more courage, more love, more selflessness & more strength.

I don't know what could be more dramatic than what has happened to those kids.

In the 7th grade I was a cheerleader. I remember the chant "Push 'em back, push 'em back, WAAAAY back!!" That's how I feel today toward every corporatist, authoritarian & neo-fascist gaining political ground in this country. The game is so not over. We're gonna push you WAY back.

What is happening in America today is as important as any other chapter in American history; our generation is deciding who we will be from this point forward. Stand for democracy. Stand for freedom. Stand for love (and know that those who don't, use those words too). BLUE 2018.

To anyone suggesting profits are more important than a child's health and wellbeing, I say this: I've made a few bucks in business myself. But I'm a mother first, a woman first, and an American first. Your point is absurd. It deserves no further credence. It's time is over. Amen.

I don't know why some people choose bigotry. I don't know why some people choose racism. I don't know why some people choose fear. But I know why those of us who choose love choose love. We choose love because Love told us to, and Love is the Voice for God.

For every hour you spend crying in the darkness of the night, spend two singing hallelujah that the dawn is sure to come.

If you stand for something, really really stand for something, not everyone will agree with you. Stand anyway.

If he had used a knife, or even a handgun, not as many people would have died.

I assume you’re right. But it still seems to me, probably because of the students themselves speaking up, but this time might be different. Something in this country is being activated now.

The NRA has been silent for the last couple of days. That’s because they know that this time, the level of our disgust is greater than the level of their shamelessness.

I certainly agree that the most urgent issue is the NRA, but that doesn’t mean no one else has anything to look at here. We have a culture of violence, with multidimensional aspects needing to be addressed. It isn’t either/or; mentioning one doesn’t have to deflect from the other

Gun laws sure can, and must be.

Mass shootings, while always shocking, are not even a surprise anymore. Given gratuitous violence in TV and movies, violence in video games, obscenely lax gun safety laws and a culture of things over people, they are an inevitable result of a society that needs to reclaim it soul
