American democracy, for all its historical flaws, still yet fits Lincoln's description of "the last best hope of earth." Many have struggled & died for it, and those who deliberately mock it, misuse it, or exploit it for personal gain will experience a decisive karmic blowback.

It can change if we change it. Our democracy is on life support but not dead yet; we have 2 election cycles left to revive it. If we show up big time in '18, '20, and '22, then we will save it. Otherwise, all bets are off.
