It's even bigger than any of those things, though. It is a primary first principle of American democracy. This country belongs to all its citizens, not to any one particular group of them.

It never succeeds ULTIMATELY, but temporarily it has succeeded and even succeeds today in various places of the world. With what's going on now, Americans are naïve or in denial to think it couldn't happen here. Complacency is not an option.

Fascism at the door in America today & this should be of deep concern to every conservative as well as liberal. A hostile, authoritarian take-over of the US government is a threat to us all. And to those who say I overstate, I would be glad to say it again, a bit louder for you.

History doesn't always unfold in a forward moving evolutionary direction. Sometimes it's one step forward, two steps back. And often ancient forms of darkness circle back around after lying dormant for years. Such is the import and significance of human decision-making and action
First they create a huge deficit with the tax bill, then they shrink entitlements "to tackle the debt and the deficit." After fires in California, resignation of Al Franken, and the US Embassy moving to Israel, this is the worst thing yet today. And I haven't even had my coffee.
