We are upset by what seems to be an assault on the fundamentals of our democracy. And many conservatives as well as liberals are saying that. If you don't agree, it could seem like fearmongering; but to many of us, it just feels like yelling "Fire!" because the house is burning.
It is so not the last straw; you can expect more. But just know the one thing their bombardment cannot withstand is millions of awakened Americans getting together, having the right conversations, and preparing for the midterms in 2018.

It's a shock & awe strategy, blanket bombardment intended to wear us down: Travel ban. Tax bill. Ending Net Neutrality. EPA & Consumer Protection Agency evisceration Etc. Don't leak your energy getting too riled; instead use the energy to help progressive Congressional candidates
I used to feel optimistic because I felt our democracy was working; today I feel optimistic because, despite the fact that our democracy is under attack, I know that in God all things are possible and that ultimately love will win. So yes, I am optimistic because I am faithful.

Both major political parties need to get their soul back. This is a dark night to be sure, but there will be a dawn if we stay the course and steer the ship away from the dangerous, undemocratic waters into which we have wandered.
There is nothing positive about denial. There is nothing holy about complacency. There is nothing mature or responsible or even spiritual about looking away from serious issues that need to be addressed
