You have very, very important elections in Texas this year. Support candidates who support common sense gun safety legislation like universal background checks, closing gun show loopholes, etc. That means Beto O'Rourke rather than Ted Cruz for Senate, among other things. #goTexas

it doesn't have to be anywhere near to the extent to which it occurs today. Our govt. currently supports the rigging of the system, through tilting of resources in the direction of those who already have.
If mass shootings were happening on a regular basis in the halls of Congress do you think Congress wouldn't act to prevent them? No, instead they can hide behind the security guards and metal detectors in their own halls. There IS such a thing as healthy shame. Shame on them all.

Children don't work, therefore have no financial leverage. Without financial leverage they have no corporate lobbyists to swarm Congress on their behalf, or money with which to flood campaign coffers. WE must be their voice, and in doing so will be serving ourselves.

Economic vitality isn't created by corporations; it's created by human passion, genius, and urge to create. You want to know where that great unmined resource is? IN EVERY KINDERGARTEN IN AMERICA.

Most laws were passed by men; more importantly, by men who until recently were not often around very young children enough to see the genius, flexibility & learning skills there. Nourish children in every possible way on every possible level and we will make it through this time.

If this society is to be serious about healing itself, we will undertake a massive realignment of resources in the direction of every possible life opportunity -- education, cultural, health and more -- to children eight years old and younger.

The world today isn't politics as usual. Underlying what we call "the issues" are deeper issues of human despair & anxiety & trauma. There the external problems begin & only there will the problems be solved. An old political mindset waters the leaves & expects the plant to grow.

If we had become activated before, they might not have been murdered. Always coming up with a reason why this isn’t the time to take action shows no respect for those children whatsoever.

Some people think answers lie in changing our hearts, that politics isn’t key. Some people think answers lie in changing our politics, that internal change isn’t key. Both are wrong & both are right. Real change is both internal and external, both in who we are and in what we do.

Gun manufactures, fossil fuel companies, chemical companies, Big Pharma, health insurance companies, banks & military contractors be on notice: you're not more important than our children & you're not more important than our democracy! We'll see you on November 6. #peoplegetready

Thank you. We don't want to do it instead of you, though. We want to do it with you.

This is not a time for false piety, Sir. “What you do to the least of these you do to me.” Who are we if we do not protect our children??
