The U.S. ranks at or near the bottom on almost every indicator regarding governmental policies toward children. Our youth homicide rates are more than 7 times that of other leading industrialized nations. Social scientists describe “war zones”— areas in violently charged homes and communities — where levels of trauma and post-traumatic stress among children are similar to those experienced by returning vets. There is nothing “post” about the traumatic stress of our children when it is re-triggered every day. We must rescue children from such crises no differently than if we were rescuing them from natural disasters. As President, I will establish a cabinet level Department of Childhood and Youth. marianne2024.com/issues/us-d…

The majority of Americans cannot afford a $500 unexpected expenditure and the President is saying the economy is doing well?

.@elonmusk I like and respect my opponent @deanbphillips and think it’s great you’re giving him a Twitter spaces today. You had said you would do that for any Presidential candidate. Will we plan mine soon?

This is infuriating. Arctic temperatures and human beings outside struggling to get warm. New Hampshire alone needs 31,000 units just to get out of the hole. We need a Domestic Marshall Plan for housing in the United States, with 5 to 10 million units of social units of social housing built. Guaranteed affordable housing is part of my Economic Bill if Rights. marianne2024.com/economic-bi…
Closed up the bar I work at downtown and was devastated to see how many people were hunkered down trying to stay warm on our sidewalk. Below freezing, and with the constant Elm St winds it’ll be a rough night. No one deserves to live like this. #HousingFirst #HousingNow

Economic justice. Racial justice. Criminal justice. Environmental justice. Justice among the peoples of the world. Justice for animals. Justice for our great grandchildren, who as yet have no say in what will happen to the world we bequeath to them. 6/6

An equal focus put on internal as well as external change is the essence of non-violence as a political philosophy. To create peace, we must be peace. “The end is inherent in the means.” 4/6

He said “The desegregation of the American South is the political externalization of the goal of the civil rights movement, but the ultimate goal is the establishment of the Beloved Community.” 2/6

We’re not going to win in 2024 by telling people to “be scared, to be very, very scared.” We’re going to win with unequivocal advocacy for the working people of the United States. No more “of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations.”

The War on Drugs has completely failed to alleviate the problem it supposedly set out to solve. It has only created more problems, fueling mass incarceration and violence at home and abroad. We have spent $1 trillion and continue to spend $100 billion annually on the failed drug war, and over half of our incarcerated population is in prison because of drug-related charges. It’s time to end the War on Drugs. marianne2024.com/issues/drug…
