Congrats to Mayor Anne Hidalgo of Paris for winning re-election on a platform for improving cities for users of transit, walking, and biking. Hidalgo’s bold leadership on climate change is very inspiring and much needed in these times.
Respectfully, a party that has won a higher vote share in the most recent election and currently has sky high approval ratings is far from tyranny. You should work on reforming your party first before pulling stunts that are unpopular with the majority of voters.
🇹🇼❤️🇵🇱 I wish to congratulate my 🇵🇱 friends on the successful 1st round of presidential elections last night

Today by chance we ran into Chen Li Qi, CEO of Chiayi Cultural Association. I was able to introduce Anthony Owens and the hydroponics work he is doing in Chiayi and discuss potential areas for both sides to enrich and contribute to each other’s work.
Today, I’m proud to announce the #Taiwan Fellowship Act with @SenRubioPress, @RepTedYoho, and @RepBera. Our bipartisan/bicameral bill pushes back on China’s work to isolate the island nation diplomatically by placing ten U.S. fellows every year to live, study, and work in Taiwan.
Met recently with @digidiplotaiwan to discuss best practices on creating internship programs that utilize international talent. For Taiwan to succeed we must internationalize our workforce and internship programs are key to these efforts.
I am thrilled to announce that on July, 2nd we are holding the second Global Taipei Dialogue! This time our topic will focus on Women Empowerment.

Had the pleasure to be interviewed for Dec’s dissertation on Subnational diplomacy in a cafe in Dihua street. Research on this topic is crucial for understanding how Taiwan can best connect to the rest of the world.

Come visit Chiayi this Sunday if you want to see this solar eclipse!
While you’re there make sure to eat and shop at Chiayi’s many wonderful local businesses.
A solar eclipse will be visible from #Taiwan on Sunday, June 21st, 2020! The annular part of the eclipse, the "ring of fire", will last for only a minute, just after 4pm local time. Chiayi looks like a perfect spot to watch the show! xjubier.free.fr/en/site_page…
“In addition to high-level management, Taiwan also needs to bring in more young people from top universities around the world to study, intern, and work in the country, Tsai said.”
I completely agree as this is what I promoted in city government.
President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) on Friday stressed the importance of strengthening Taiwan's talent pool and bringing in foreign professionals in order for the country to meet the challenges posed by the #COVID19 pandemic and #globalization.
