Today we met with Taipei City Councilor Chao-Hsiung Juan and I discussed Taiwan NextGen’s fellowship program and vision for more international exchanges. We also brought up disaster prevention which is one of his key issues.

After hearing the news about the tragic passing of Mayor Park Won-soon, I wish to express my sincere condolences to the people of Seoul and the Mayor’s family.
Seoul became Taipei’s sister city in 1968. I remain grateful for Mayor Park’s contributions to this special relation.

Verbally abusing passengers is never acceptable. This was made even worse by the specific targeting of migrant workers. I’m glad the transportation department has fined the bus company. We must call out injustices like these whenever we see them.
A Taichung bus driver who verbally abused and refused service to #migrantworkers for wearing too much #perfume received a serious demerit and caused his company to be fined by the city government on Saturday.
