Wow... some DM's and DD's of the @debian project are very insecure using words like 'hijack' and 'hostile' if you dare offer contribution and updates to a package.

Apparently if a maintainer misses multiple releases and updates are spotty - that is still 'actively maintained' to some within the @debian project. 馃え

What this is really is the maintenance of power and those outside who contribute are a footnote on updates etc. while lazy maintainers get to then pull others work in and seem busy! 馃槦

Oh... and lets not get onto to gbp. Hmm... can someone look at the fedora way of handling git and package updates with side cache for upstream tarballs and git for distro only files. A far better way.
