Israel targets municipal facilities to further cripple whatever remains of Gaza’s ability to continue: The Municipality of Gaza (MoG) strongly condemns the Israeli bombardment of its municipal garage and maintenance workshop, rendering it inoperative On the midnight of November 7, 2023, the Israeli forces struck the municipality garage and maintenance workshop in Gaza city center, resulting in substantial damage. Consequently, the Municipality of Gaza earnestly communicates the following:  MoG condemns the deliberate Israeli targeting of the municipality garage and maintenance workshop, an essential civic facility serving the needs of the citizens.  MoG's garage and workshop are currently non-operational because of the damage inflicted on the emergency vehicles, the maintenance workshop, and other facilities, presenting a significant threat to the vicinity.  MoG declares the complete halt of excavators and heavy machinery that were utilized to reopen the streets targeted and affected by the Israeli attacks on Gaza. This stoppage is due to the Israeli bombardment, which also impacted other emergency service vehicles.  MoG urges an immediate intervention by international humanitarian organizations and communities to ensure the protection of municipal workers and those engaged in civil and humanitarian activities. The Municipality of Gaza (MoG) affirms its responsibility as a service-rendering entity and pledges to ensure essential services for the people during these challenging times, considering the shortages in water supply, electricity cut-offs, and fuel depletion.
