Guys, stop saying this. This is not a pro-Palestine position. This is historically not true and inherently anti-Palestinian because it is based on the racist ideology that Palestinians canโ€™t speak or organize for themselves.
If Hamas are so reprehensible and akin to ISIS, why did Israel help to create them? โ€œHamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation.โ€ - Avner Cohen, former Israeli religious affairs official.

Also Israel did NOT support Hamas per se. Israel was the military occupation in Gaza when Hamas (before it was known as Hamas) wanted to build charitable and cultural societies and orgs including Gazaโ€™s first university in the late 70s. There was no way to start these orgs without an Israeli occupation permit. That is not support. But rivals like FATEh always falsely cited that as Israel establishing Hamas or supporting Hamas. Around the time Hamas had a secret movement and even a small military arm that came after Israeli collaborators in the early 80s and even bought guns to fight Israel back. This is when their founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin was arrested. Liberal using the โ€œIsrael founded or funded Hamasโ€ argument is racist and deprives Palestinians of their agency. Itโ€™s not the argument you think it is.

Indigenous people under colonial occupation rarely have full agency unfortunately. We do the best we can. This does not diminish in any way their reasons, sacrifice or commitment to fight. 1/1

.@ScrausScraus reconsider the retweet:
Thread on Refaat Alareer. I strongly disagree with his past statements defending October 7 and describing all Israeli civilians as combatants. 1. Refaat attacked the left wing Prime Minister of Nepal for condemning the shooting of Nepalis and other civilians on October 7

I think @TadhgHickey is alluding to Netanyahuโ€™s policy of approving transfer of $millions from Qatar to Hamas 2012-18 with his stated intention of strengthening them and undermining the PA and Abbas?

But they did fund them. And Palestinians didn't have much voice in this. I'm not denying them agency, I'm making it clear that they didn't have agency. Hamas and Zionism are the same project. And what about the money BN gave them??

Can I ask what you think of this from Husam Zomlot? It doesn't contradict your point (E.g. I understand that some Russians suspect both Putin and the US recognise a long war in Ukraine as in their mutual interests but without suggesting collusion). x.com/hzomlot/status/1105136โ€ฆ 1/2
