Guys, stop saying this. This is not a pro-Palestine position. This is historically not true and inherently anti-Palestinian because it is based on the racist ideology that Palestinians can’t speak or organize for themselves.
If Hamas are so reprehensible and akin to ISIS, why did Israel help to create them? “Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation.” - Avner Cohen, former Israeli religious affairs official.

It is historically true that Hamas was supported by Israel to divide and weaken the Palestinian resistance, at least initially. I believe it’s important for western public bc it reveals how Israel operates but should not be used to dismiss Hamas as a tool of Israel today.

Saying Hamas is a tool of Israel is saying the Vietnam fighters were a tool of America The Warsaw ghetto rebels a tool of the Nazis Black freedom fighters a tool of the slave owners And the indigenous peoples of America a tool of the European colonisers etc etc

I get your point but not necessarily. Hamas was used by Israel against the PLO but that does not mean that its members were not committed to the liberation too. Some of the struggles you mention also saw attempts to divide and conquer by their oppressors: American natives, Black.

Hamas was funded by israel, the express reason was to ensure that there was no peace and no statehood for Palestine. Fairly recently netanyahu reaffirmed his stance of allowing funds to flow to them for this end. It was Hubris of israel that made them believe they were in control

Does this also mean that Palestinians should take responsibility for all the crimes (such as killing civilians) attributed to Hamas if they were true ?
I thought that argument wasn’t insinuating hamas’s existence was a result of Israel, but rather that Israel’s initial relative support of Hamas served a purpose. Israel supported Islamic militarized effort instead of other ones for a reason, pointing that history out is important

I think we see the same idea with 9/11, where people throw around the idea that al Qaeda was “created” by the CIA and the implication is that they were blindly following some predetermined master plan or something

Hamas was really acting as Israel's pawn when it, to Israel's chagrin & fury, tried to normalize relations in the early 2010s (culminating in Brother's Keeper and Protective Edge) These people have baby brains and dont read.
