It’s frustrating that the ‘left’ refuses to contextualise Hamas as an unambiguous product of over 70 years of unrelenting Israeli terrorism against the Palestinian people. They were literally formed to resist the occupation. Resistance is not terrorism.

100%. I also think it has such a hold on some in the west cause people get to condemn Hamas while still imagining themselves to be anti-Zionist. I think the claim that oct 7th was a false flag is doing similar work.

When I’ve said Israel created Hamas, I meant, if there was no occupation, no blockade, there would’ve been no need for Hamas. Not that Israel physically put together Hamas.
