I used to angrily tell my student how Britain helped exacerbate the Irish Famine that happened 170 years ago. Can you imagine people starving in the 1840s?! Well, the US/UK are helping Israel starve Palestinians in Gaza. People are literally slimming down and it shows on their faces.

They caused many famines in ireland the one in 1845 was the worst one as it directly killed one million and lasted 7 years. But it actually wasnt the last one there was one in 1875 and also in 1913 during the dublin lock out. 3 yrs later the easter rising happened.

"'The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet, but not to make them die of hunger,' [Dov Weisglass] said. The hunger pangs are supposed to encourage the Palestinians to force Hamas to change its attitude towards Israel or force Hamas out of government." theguardian.com/world/2006/a…

Gaza declared war on Israel and burned its kids and raped its women. Why be surprised you are now in a war and your foe is unwilling to supply you with food? Wonder how slim the hostages are?

I'm of irish ancestory, the famine was seen by many in the ruling classes as an opportunity to clear the land in 1947 they stopped aid. just over a quarter of the population was lost to starvation or forced immigration.Irelands population has not fully recovered.
