Recurrent story in Gaza. “My children are scared of the dark— you don’t understand.” 💔💔

My friend, Karam, left his wife and five children at home to purchase essential items for them from the nearest store. On his way back, he was in constant communication with his wife and daughter, assuring them that he had bought everything they needed. However, in a tragic instant, missiles struck their house, severing all communication and tragically taking his entire small family from him forever.
If not for his unwavering faith in God, which I greatly respect, I might have thought Karam had lost his sanity. He spent his third night at the Nuseirat cemetery, beside the grave that holds the remains of his family. Despite our pleas for him to leave, he would only sob and say, "My children are scared of the dark, you don't understand."
