Sounds like it's two separate security issues: spectreattack.com/ MELTDOWN is the one that can be patched against and only affects Intel CPUs. SPECTRE is the one that affects all typr processors. There's no fix for it at the moment.

the official page meltdownattack.com/ says both attacks affect all processors in one way or another. AMD just isn't too happy about it

I have heard this but I don't see parallels to the move Apple did. I don't know how that works but I know that CPUs are complex as hell and to fix a design flaw using microcode can be problematic and may create other problems resulting in a slower processor.

My OCed TR is still too slow for my taste. :C
