To be fair, those of us who‘d attach a giant battery to the wall would probably have a permanent, high-bandwidth connection to the internet.

I thought we could use it to provide off-grid power. And many places where we need this may not have good internet connectivity.

Yeah it would make more sense to just hook up a modem as needed when they mail you an alert via the postal service
We're not arguing that, we're arguing that it's an IoT device in the first place. Putting it on the internet makes it a target.
