I actually use my samsung smartv for netflix, so I put it on a subnet with a firewall that blocks anything not-netflix.

Really? What TVs are those? Not everyone has a good wi-fi signal near their TV. My parents' house certainly doesn't.

Is WLAN sufficient? Maybe you have an old WLAN router and can set it up with no Internet access... 😊
