anyway once upon a time i worked at a company that made smart shit and someone accidentally made 30000 of them call the.......marketing server........every day at 5pm....and keep trying if it didn't respond

Yea! No WiFi, it should require a SIM and recurring fee contract (cannot buy yourself, must go through Weber). Grill doesn’t work without a live internet connection.

Tbh seeing temperature profiles on a nice graph could be neat. As would be having a weight sensor for the propane can to have a fuelgauge of sorts.
