The plan is no advertising or anything creepy. Instead I'm hoping people might like it enough to support it in exchange for some perks. I'll launch that later, but you can sign up to find out first here: internetofshit.net/#/portal/…

Do some DIY things like Home Assistant or openHAB!

Hatch has some baby gadgets that seem on the edge of unnecessary and risky. The "Rest" might just be bluetooth, but the "Rest+" is wi-fi enabled. They also have the "Grow" which is a smart scale.

I don't have a baby but I might be able to enlist a friend to help with this lol

Take a look at Ikeas home smart devices. They usually use rebadged devices from one of the market leaders at the time they entered the market. Their wireless sound devices come from Sonos as an example. I dont know where their smart lighting comes from, but it works fine.

Assuming that you might potentially give a mixed review (not everything is shit, just most things), how about looking at getmysa.com/ ? Smart thermostats. IoT but not unnecessarily connected. Also, you have a 1-time PayPal donate button?

Great idea. Look forward to seeing them. Video or written reviews?
