Nope. I’m stating my position based on many things including commuting tens of thousands of miles on roads where they were tested, seeing them at least weekly, as well as burying several friends who were killed by drivers focused on other things before I was 20.

Waymo system is brittle. It relies on high def maps. Not a realistic global solution. How will it handle construction and changes, sometimes daily? Tesla is letting the AI learn from real world data without the need for those maps.

For example. How is Waymo gonna deal with these every day challenges throughout the world? Tesla is doing this today:
#fsdbeta handling a construction zone like a champ. Check out the visualization. @elonmusk

That's every new feature of every car model every year. ABS brakes? Throttle by wire? Ultrasonic proximity braking? All of those were once new technologies. Youyr right that cars and car makers enjoy a surprising degree of privilege in American society, but Tesla isn't special.
If you think that happened for turbo, or abs, or automatic headlights, or crash avoidance assist, I have news for you.
