i promise you it's not.... more tech in cars... that'll make things safer for cyclists. it's: a) cycling infrastructure b) ....................fewer cars nyti.ms/33LCwXw

And helmets. In NY only children under 13 are required to helmets. If you are ANY age riding a bicycle without a helmet you are an idiot. There I said it.

Yet another "solution" rather than solving the actual problem theguardian.com/lifeandstyle…

And having bike lanes appear and disappear randomly along a stretch of road is bad. Also, stop lights where right turns are permitted are scary.

Protected bike lanes are good...if done right. The ones on Valencia in SF have uncontrolled gaps for cars to cross into alleys and drives. Parked cars block all sightlines, and cars dive through these gaps. I've been hit twice and too many near misses to count.

Yikes! Yeah sometimes it takes a bit for cities to get it right

It’s a technology I’d be thrilled to use on my road bike when not biking in a city.

Doesn’t matter if they’re protected! I’ve seen Christine, cars are just murderers

Cars will probably be able to fly before they will make protected bike lanes everywhere.
