AI in side mirrors that looks for approaching vehicle or cyclist and locks door to prevent it from opening would prevent dooring and injuries to thoughtless car passengers.

Or them riding a bike just follow the rules. Dear devil you that make a head on with a SUV about 1,5 ton of Steele and 20kg of bike. Go back to school

I only recently noticed that cyclists (along with motorcycles and pedestrians) are now termed "vulnerable road users" - demarking them as impediments to the proper traffic.

Those are necessary, but since we can’t replace cars for some uses (services, taxis, people with a11y needs) - some tech would be nice to have, too, e.g. to prevent door opening on a bike lane.

Dear US-Cities: Cyclist have it rough, instead of investing in old cyclist roads separated from cars, invest in 5G-Towers. This will keep all cyclist safe - at least those buying 5G phones. The rest will adapt or die out.
