Recognises every one of the 800 varieties ... wonder if it’s 1D/2D barcode, image recognition, NFC, or something else.

Pods are wasteful! Getting a proper entry level espresso machine with a grinder will save thousands in the long run, and a crap tonne of capsule materials. Mine's the BES870XL from Breville, and I love it. There's quite a few others; easy as, and amazing coffee.

Next up: an Ubik-style coffee machine that automatically send Keurig 25 cents through the linked payment method of your choice whenever you use it

@BW Gotta admire the evil genius of getting the customer to pay extra for tech to close any loopholes that might let anyone buy cheaper pods from a competitor

I'd rather drink a shot of liquified cat turds than drink a cup of Keurig pod "coffee"

The competition stifling DRM has always been there with Keurig machines, it’s just that the internet bit has been added in

As an IT professional, I try my best to avoid connected devices at home. Especially those that don’t need to be connected to work (e.g. a coffee machine, light bulbs, etc.)
