As someone who lives in a country where the only reasonable way to get a reasonable price for car insurance is installing an app that monitors you constantly......... ...fuck this
Having your car automatically upload driving data so that insurance companies can “customise” premiums. What could possibly go wrong. theregister.com/2020/08/18/a…

I think that may indicate where the problem is. Oh and our RTA rate is nearly twice that if the UK. We're shit drivers.

Agree entirely- drive on small country roads and the stupid drivers assistant kicks in every mile if you touch the center line (sometimes I move over for a cyclist or a dead animal). I know each of those micro adjustments is costing me money.

I have some insight into this industry, due to reasons... Current laws do not allow insurance companies to drop you for piss pour driving at least in NA/EU. They can kick you out of the program if your driving is complete and utter shit. 1/x

If you own a car with auto brake etc premium should go down. No data needed.

Saw that coming years ago. When enough people buy into that marketing it becomes the new normal. My wife wanted the entire family to join in to 'save money'. I said don't include me. Oh well.
