it is absolutely bananas to me that anyone would put a facebook product with a camera in it in their home

FB Portal is a killer product which doesn’t get the attention it deserves. With Zoom integration, it’s going to be *so much* better than having a webcam.

A friend of mine worked on the hardware, exceptional engineer. It’s hard to want a friend’s greatest work to fail. Still do though.

I keep my Webcam plugged in for convenience. However, when I'm not using it, it's in a box with good lighting pointed at a frame filling picture of Jeff The Killer, just to keep anyone who might find an exploit company.
