There are always ways to abuse technology. Imagine the case where this was a rental, and the landlord or management company had a time stamped log of every time you enter or exit your apartment. Personal data can always be misused in ways that get brushed off as unlikely/absurd.

yes there is always ways to abuse technology, so what's exactly your point here? don't use technology?
