Why does a blu-ray player have a network interface in the first place?

I just never connect this smart crap to the internet in the first place...

Unfortunately, most people who own these devices also rely on them for streaming.

Wait people still use Blu-ray?

Many people I know don’t have internet or is to slow to watch videos. I wonder if a power flush (drain all electrical power from the device) would fix the issue.
