Looks like it won't be too long before my physical images are deprecated too. I will be forced to use the Smart Photo Frame which has an cota-core 2GHz ARM to display a single image and only when connected to wifi. And it won't be too long before that thing also mines Bitcoin.

I don't know if they are well enough organized to deploy a massive update that led millions of devices broken at the same time and all over the world, it seems to be dead code that got executed.

Maybe it’s time to rethink regulation on customer electronics regulation. What is the value of warranty if firmware, an integral part of a product, keeps changing during a product’s lifetime. How do you certify a product when part of its functionality hasn’t been implemented yet.

I had an LG blue ray player that was selective in which Blu Ray it would actually play...... like Russian roulette if the movie would play or not.
